We live as we have been educated to live. We live on symbols and words, memories and images. We meet the world, not from clear vision, but from a basis of limited knowledge , beliefs, superstitions, ideas, and educated information. This is thought, pleasure driven, fearful, self interested, ambitious, ever seeking - thought. This inner movement, which we have been educated to identify with, as the very root source of our existence, is no such thing. This is a psychological approach educated into each of us by virtue of enduring twelve years of memory based 'education'. By virtue, of having passed through school. School did not 'educate' us into intelligent beings. School conformed our lives to the divided, immoral, corrupted and conflicted system of society which came before. We learned the importance of living under authority, religious, national and ideological.
We learned the importance of following leaders, of approaching life in a spirit of competition, which is to approach life aggressively, seeking to beat the other person down. We were educated into a language, and so to conceptualise every experience, into words and images. We were educated to meet our lives through finding security in symbols. Language, is symbolic, the word, is never the thing, it merely represents the thing. We have been educated, brainwashed in a way, to value the symbol as being of greater benefit to our lives, than the reality, the truth, merely represented in symbolic form.
This complex problem is what we must understand, if we are to ever come to truth, and so be in a position to act truthfully. Which is to act well and accurately in actual relationship to what is true, not to what I think about what is true. One problem is that we have confused our inner conceptual words and images, with what they point to.
The word "God' Is not what the word points to. The word "love" Is not the quality a man may come to feel in his heart, which the words merely points towards. We exist on educated words and symbols and because of this we have lost connection to a true ground of our lives, which can never be symbolic. For this Universe, is not a living dictionary. It is a living thing. We have no conception nor relationship with living things, for we live in an inner enclosure of words and images. We find our security living within conceptual knowledge. It is this inner gross limitation which divides us in life, and brings our world repetitively to wars. I am a Jew, you are an Arab. I am an American, you are a Russian. To life, to the Universe which lives beyond all symbols, in a ground of truth, there are no Jews Arabs, Russian, nor Americans. These are all educated human concepts. A continuity of a historic divisive ideology among a limited group of people among the totality of mankind. Ideologies are not living things. We kill living things, in preference of the stability and continuity of our educated divisive and so aggressive and defensive ideology.
A Universe of great wonder exists in front of our eyes, yet our eyes have no ability to meet it.
We project our desires, hopes, fears ambitions, prejudices and longings out onto the world. We live and die in a magnificent Universe, having never even glimpsed what or where we are. We are otherwise occupied. The walls of our inner thinking are impenetrable to the depth of silence, the infinite space and the living beauty of this living loving and dying infinite Universe of infinite beauty. Our inner thinking patterns, educated to be divisive between us, and so conflicting between us, are responsible for the wanton destruction of our home planet, the untimely death of countless numbers of human beings, and simultaneously, the destruction of a true quality of life, which is heavenly, which we might naturally meet were we all not so monstrously enslaved into this inner pattern of conceptual living by our society when children. Is there any chance for us?
There is, but we must come to end that which we are, for that which we are, is what we have been educated to be, and so is limited, and so divisive, and so conflict causing in relationship with others. This is held in educated divisive patterns of thinking, which is memory in daily acton. We must end our infinite love for beloved inward symbols, to come to find a true life value. How can you ever meet life, if your meeting is through an educated and conceptual ideology of what life is?
All thinking, is ideological. We do not meet life, when we meet it with thoughts. We meet what we think about life, which is a part of what we are. To see life, unadulterated by inward images, is to see life as it is. To see your life where and when it is. To see what you actually are, not what you have been educated to believe yourself to be, which is a name, which is a symbol. You are life itself, and this Universe, is your home, and your mother. We could equally say you are life itself, and God, is your home and your father. The symbols we use count for little, what lies behind the symbols are what we need come to find and so live in relationship to, to change life.
